WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is a cosmetic tattoo procedure that uses a manual tool to deposit pigment into the skin in tiny hair like strokes, to mimic the look of real hairs.

DOES MICROBLADING WORK ON ALL SKIN TYPES?

Those with very oily or combination skin may not heal as expected with microblading. The results may be hair strokes that appear blurry or more powdery as the oil will spread the pigment in the pores. In these cases, specific aftercare instructions will be given to you to ensure the best results possible.

IS IT PAINFUL?

A topical numbing cream is used prior to microblading and a liquid anesthetic is applied during the procedure to ensure you are as comfortable as possible. Please note, you may be more sensitive to pain if you book your appointment near your menstrual cycle.

HOW DO I PREPARE AND CARE FOR MY TATTOO?

Please refer to the Before/Aftercare page for further details.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

You may experience temporary redness and sensitivity immediately following your appointment. Your tattoo will appear extremely dark the first few days. Do not panic. The color will gradually lighten during the healing process.

Around day 4 you may have minimal itching, scabbing, and flaking of the skin. DO NOT PICK. Allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own.

IMPORTANT: Once the flakes have fallen off, a shiny layer of healing skin will completely cover the hair strokes. It may appear as though the tattooed area has completely disappeared. This is normal. Within 1-2 weeks, the hair strokes will slowly reappear at a lighter shade as your skin regenerates.

The entire healing process takes between 6-8 weeks.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?

Two treatments are necessary to ensure the best results. It is very important that you return for your touch up 6-8 weeks after your initial appointment so your artist can assess how your skin received the ink and make any necessary adjustments.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Microblading lasts between 1-2  years for most people. Annual touch ups are recommended. Please be aware that medications, health conditions, skin conditions –  i.e. anemia (iron-deficiency), oily and poor skin, very dry/flaky skin, sun-damaged skin, loose or laxed skin, natural skin undertones, alcohol intake and smoking, general stress, immune system, poor diet and not following the aftercare instructions may affect your healed results. Results are not guaranteed.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A COSMETIC AND BODY TATTOO?

The purpose of cosmetic tattooing is to enhance the natural features of a client. The results are softer and more subtle. Body tattoos use ink while cosmetic tattoo procedures involve pigments. These pigments are designed to gently fade over time. Fading is desired as it allows the artist to make changes to color and shape over the years as aging occurs.
